Mitch Miller

Mitch grew up in Oklahoma which instilled in him a longing to see and understand the world. After receiving his MFA in 2000 he moved to NYC the next day to jump head first into the art world. In 2000, Mitch and some friends started the Scope Art Show. He has worked in every capacity for Scope - from co-founding, to working as a curator, producer and public relations coordinator, to building educational programs, to exhibiting his art work as part of special projects or with galleries representing him. Mitch is currently on the board of curators for 2024. Working collaboratively with other artists is important to Mitch so in 2010 he and some creative tech artists started Augmented Mountain, a company with a mission to bring artists up to date with emerging technologies. In total, they built nine AR apps for a range of artists and organizations including Laurie Anderson, Pratt Institute, the DUMBO Arts Festival and the Scope Art Fair (Miami, NYC, and Basel). Socrates Sculpture Park, Pollock-Krasner, Joan Mitchell, Ford Foundation, and Andy Warhol grants have supported Mitch’s work. He exhibits nationally and internationally in galleries, art fairs, and museums. The DUMBO arts festival (NYC), Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (AZ), Doosan Gallery (NYC), Center for Cultural Innovation in San Jose (CA), universities around the country and art fairs around the world have hosted Mitch for presentations of his work.
