Zach Duer

Associate Professor
  • Chair, Creative Technologies MFA program

Duer's artistic research lies at a series of intersections: sound and visualization; careful composition and improvised performance; intuitive musical spontaneity and structured digital systems. The resulting creative work includes fixed-media sound and video collage, improvised multimedia performance, immersive environments, and projection mapped and 3D-printed sculpture. He grew up in Minnesota, has two children, and likes to spend his free time writing complaints about the wasted potential of so many videogames that could have been better and how exactly they should have done that.
